Biography
SNLienz are a six member band from Soweto, Protea Glen started in 2010 by Ayanda Allaman Mgqolozana and Bafana BtwoStar Mkhize. the band later recruited Melusi Strauss City Malaka, Mohau Vusi F Mokoena, Jimmy Jslash Rhavhuhale and Nkululeko Drex Mgaga. This formidable force then took to the streets forming street ciphers in glen building their name and securing street cred, which later resulted in creation of tracks and recording them and distributing them among friends on social networks.. the band then went on to perform at shows, schools and artist launches around Johannesburg opening stages for acts such as Neo beats in Shikisha Newtown, Nigerian Artist in Randburg (Air Entertainment) and CSI events for COPESSA. The band is fairly new in the game and they are determined at changing the face of the music scene in the southern hemisphere with a scope of taking the international markets with diverse word play and writing language, this band is multilingual and culturally diverse. Allaman is a Xhosa Native from the Eastern Cape born and Raised in Soweto, BtwoStar Also Originates from a Xhosa background but from the KZN outskirts also born in Soweto Strauss City being a City boy as you can tell by his name has been in the city for too long but Jslash Born in the US Manhattan but currently resides in Soweto brings the international feel to the group and Drex a KZN boy who truly stuck to that Durban accent phela nkabi..
This band is set for the stars with a name associated with astronomical qualities you would swear they are astronauts, when explaining why they chose the name they gave a rather clear explanation as to why Snlienz so this is what they said "we feel as if the music we do takes people to out of their comfort zone which is earth and places them to a place of no gravity, and also we feel we don't belong here (earth) its like we were placed then accidentally bumped into each other or fate brought us together you can say" so with that said taking a look at most of the song they do, we see influences of mafia tactics and ancient shrine teachings and godly references meaning either they are worshiping a high power or their main influence is of a dark force.
